POETRY by Alexa Carney
That version of her doesn’t exist anymore
Tormenting with her soul is a constant call for war
Battling head and heart, she lets out a faint groan
She just longs to be known
Reckless, she bends from their judgements,
Making more and more adjustments
Seeking to escape from the prison they built her
She tears at the bars, everything turns to a blur
Trapped, she felt abandoned, trying to claw her way out
Alone in her cell, the chains were rattling
But love had met her in the darkness
Taking her heart of hardness
Molding it to fit His lightness
Slipping through the cracks, He healed every broken piece
Her old self had come to cease
This new version of her could not be contained
Bc all of His love wrapped around her, keeping her sustained
