It was hot and sunny after the mid-day rain
The grass, flowers and trees began to dry quickly
Kids started to come out to play
Dogs were running through the streets
Music and laughter filled the air
We drove up around the mountain
We arrived into their space
People stopped each other to talk, to listen, to embrace
We were asked to stay
To learn, to connect, to meet someone new
We saw a light in their eyes despite their past trauma
Despite their past pain
This was a place of hope and healing
Of redemption and renewal
Life restored
Love unfailing
