Student Spotlight: Chloe Schaffer

To many people, Roberts Wesleyan is just a university, an institution from which academic degrees may be procured. Chloe Schaffer is not one of these people.  To Chloe, our university is a ministerial garden, an opportunity to learn to become a better gardener as a steward of her God-given gifts.

Chloe is a junior nursing major at Roberts and RA in the Quads who loves playing Jackbox games with her friends, going on random hikes, longboarding around campus, and participating in intramurals.  Her favorite spot on campus is the library cafe in the morning when the sun is shining through the windows.  When she studies, she has to get a study room; otherwise she will talk to everyone she sees and not get anything done.

Chloe references the idea that “your mission is between your two feet” to explain her purpose at Roberts.  Founding and leading ROC Solid alongside fellow junior Alexa Carney is perhaps the biggest testament to this belief of hers.  “I like being a positive light on campus no matter where I’m at,” she says, “a light of positivity, and someone people can go to.”  She wants to have a positive impact on students while she’s here.

If there’s one thing that Chloe wants people to know, it’s that change isn’t always bad.  Friend groups, for example, can change over time, and the ways they change can be beautiful.  Chloe, thank you for everything you do at Roberts!
