Struggling with Car Thefts? Try “Can’t Thefts”: Tips to Avoid Getting Your Car Stolen

0 0

Recently, there has been an apparent rise in car thefts around Rochester, which has sparked anxiety for car owners anxious to keep track of their vehicles. Perhaps you, too, have experienced an increasing fear of leaving your vehicle unattended. While there is a range of basic actions you can take to deter and prevent theft of your vehicle, here are gathered some more creative (and dare we say, perhaps more effective) tips for keeping your car safe:

  1. REMOVE THE DOORS

A car thief may smash the windows to gain unwanted access to your car. To prevent this and the subsequent stealing of the vehicle, be sure to remove all the doors after parking! For extra security, remove the door of the trunk, as well as the hood.

  1. TURN THE CAR INTO AN ICEBERG

Anyone attempting to steal your vehicle will have to spend an inordinate amount of time chipping ice off the windows and doors. The ice will also protect your windows from being broken! Pour a few heavy buckets of water over the entire car and allow it to freeze overnight.

  1. DISGUISE THE CAR AS A BUSH

Disguising your car as a bush (or a tree, or another plant) will leave it undetectable to anyone attempting to steal it. Quite simply, no one will expect random plants growing out of the center of a parking lot or driveway, and they will thus be unaware of any vehicle hiding within! Keep in mind, the larger the leaves on the branches, the more brilliant the disguise, but even some thin cover will hide your valuable transportation.

  1. TRAIN A SET OF PARROTS TO GUARD IT

Parrots are extremely smart birds, a fact that you can use for your advantage. Merely obtain a set of birds (between ten and twenty-three) and train them to protect your car while you are away. Instruct them to bite anyone who approaches and to carry your vehicle out of the way of any trouble! To increase the likelihood of success, see our previous tips in disguising your vehicle as scenery, and these parrots will enjoy their role as guard birds even more.

  1. FILL THE TIRES WITH CONCRETE

While a car boot may be effective in stopping your car from moving, it’s not always the most practical solution. Instead: fill your tires with concrete! Now, instead of remembering to always grab that pesky metal ring before driving anywhere, you can easily keep an extra set of cement-treated tires in the backseat!

  1. FILL THE CAR WITH CONCRETE

However, what to do if your vehicle’s new concrete boots are stolen? A clever solution: fill the body of the vehicle itself with concrete, and the extra weight will prevent the car from being moved easily! This will also block off the gas and brake pedals, and – depending on how high you pour in the concrete – maybe even the gear stick, thus ending any opportunity for would-be thieves to make off with your property.
