Jesus Returns to Roberts?

“But understand this: if the owner of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

Matthew 24:43-44, NRSVUE

Dear Roberts fam, could it be true? Could it finally be happening? Just as prophesied in the Holy Scriptures, has Jesus returned?

At first, I didn’t think it was possible. I overhead someone outside of Hastings talking about a “weather phenomenon.” They said, “It looked like a white horse was coming from the clouds, and there was this crown!” Again, at first, I thought this was a delusion. Perhaps somebody spent too long inhaling fumes from the Miner halls.

I continued walking towards Garlock with the post-chapel rush until I heard a freshman say, “Jesus was just in my last class before chapel started!” At this point, to say I was intrigued would be an understatement. I became obsessed.

I frantically called every pastor I had ever met to explain what I’d been hearing. I asked all of them, could it be possible? Could Jesus have returned? They all left me with the same response: “If He has returned, He must be wearing a gray tweed newsy cap.” I knew I had to stake out this class and see for myself. I spent the next week spying in classroom windows around 10 am for a man that looked like Jesus.

And then I saw Him… Smith 365 at 10 am… The Messiah had returned, wearing the gray tweed newsy cap.

I know you have no reason to believe me. So, see for yourself. He’ll be there preaching.
