A Change to University

0 0

September 13, 2022, had started like any other Tuesday – blissfully uneventful. The school year had started only 2 weeks prior, and students and teachers alike were adjusting to their new schedules. Peace could be found across the lands accompanied by an underlying buzz of excitement for the new year. That was until 1:05 PM EST when an email was sent to every campus inbox, an email that would shake this institution to the floor. The unthinkable happened – Roberts Wesleyan College had been given permission to morph to Roberts Wesleyan University. There was chaos everywhere! Food was being thrown across Garlock, trees began to rot from their roots, and the sky began to fold into itself, as the fabric of time was ripped apart. Students looked at one another with tears in their eyes, holding on to what little hope they had that they might survive. The future seemed grim and hopeless – except none of that happened, obviously. Instead, there was, at most, an energized hum to Garlock as everyone talked about the change. People ranged from being excited at the prospect of being a part of this major historical moment to frustrated that they had bought RWC gear just before the name change. However, there was one underlying question in everyone’s mind – What does this change mean for us students? Simply put, nothing will change — mostly. The main change that we’ll see is just the name on all official documents. For instance, the only thing that will change on the billing statement is that of RWC to RWU.
