The Sempiternal Heart by Alyssa Coleman
A sacrificial lover,
Patient.
Magnanimous.
To a fault,
And they know it.
See her love,
Her sacrifice,
They abuse it.
Yet, she chooses love.
They’ll pull from her heart,
taking and taking as much as she’s willing to give.
Yet, she never stops giving.
They deserve love
when she’s laid to rest, maybe they’ll realize what they’ve done.
And, if she could walk again,
Knowing her tragic outcome,
She’d still love them.
Her most tragic blessing,
Forever gracing their deepest faults.
