You love still by Aaron Hitchcock

i spit on Your face

every day,

building alters

that disrespect Your Name.

i do the things

that You tell me You despise.

i drive the nails

through Your wrists on that cross,

i’ll take the apple

disregarding its cost.

i just keep failing

and in that i’m cursing Your Name.

but You love me still,

because i’m just a little kid

disrespecting a Father who cares.

You love me still,

because Your grace is sufficient

to give me hope to try again,

even when i didn’t earn it.

i can’t understand that love.

i’m not good enough

but You make me good enough.

i can’t understand that love.
