Roberts Wesleyan College is a comprehensive, independent college in the Christian tradition serving traditional and nontraditional students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  The College was founded by Benjamin Titus Roberts, the first general secretary of the Free Methodist Church of North America.  Established in 1866 as Chili Seminary, the name was changed to A. M. Chesbrough Seminary in 1885, and to Roberts Junior College in 1945.  The New York State Board of Regents issued a charter granting baccalaureate degrees in 1949, at which time Roberts Wesleyan College became the new corporate name.  The first graduate program was authorized in 1991.  In 1998 Northeastern Seminary was founded at Roberts Wesleyan College.

The College is committed to the mission of integrating a Christian worldview and learning in the liberal arts and professions.  Roberts Wesleyan is chartered by the Regents of the University of the State of New York and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
