Profile

Dr. Chris O’Brien is an ordained pastor with a rich background in both ministry and higher education. He is passionate about teaching and mentoring students as they discern and pursue their vocational paths, especially within the context of theological formation. Dr. O’Brien is an active member of the American Academy of Religion, the Society of Biblical Literature, and the Wesleyan Theological Society.

His scholarship explores Wesleyan theology, biblical interpretation, and Christian formation, with published contributions in The Holy River of God and the Global Wesleyan Dictionary of Biblical Theology. He has presented research at conferences across North America, often focusing on themes such as Scripture, the missio Dei, and inclusive participation in the church. In his spare time, Dr. O’Brien enjoys spending time in nature, finding spiritual renewal in the beauty of the outdoors.
