Dr. Fanle Wei is a dedicated economist whose academic journey reflects a deep commitment to research, teaching, and academic excellence. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Rutgers University–New Brunswick, where he was recognized with multiple awards for both his teaching and research contributions, including the prestigious Teaching Assistant Award (2015–16, 2019–22) and Research Assistant Award (2016–18). Prior to his doctoral studies, he completed a Master's degree in Economics at The University of Alabama and a Bachelor's degree in Economics at Zhejiang Gongshang University.
Dr. Wei has demonstrated consistent leadership and professional development throughout his academic career, having earned a Certificate in College Teaching and secured multiple funding awards to enhance his expertise in instructional methodology. His teaching philosophy aligns with a vision of economics as a tool to foster critical thinking, data literacy, and real-world problem-solving.
The business of education is not, as I think, to make the young perfect in any one of the sciences, but so to open and dispose their minds as may best make them capable of any, when they shall apply themselves to it.
