Maryanne Barrett is an educator with over 15 years of experience teaching reading and writing in and outside of the classroom. She has dedicated her career to supporting students of all ages become lifelong readers and writers. Maryanne taught 7th grade Language Arts in Syracuse, NY. After moving to Rochester, she currently teaches at Monroe Community College as a professor and academic coach in the Transitional Studies Department and at Roberts Wesleyan in the Literacy Graduate Program.  Maryanne also continues her commitment to promoting literacy in the community by being actively involved in the Rochester Area Literacy Council as Co-Membership Chair and is part of the New York State Reading Association Conference Planning Committee. She resides in Penfield, NY with her husband and two children.
