100 Students and Counting: 100th Master of Science in Strategic Marketing Graduate Completes Program at Roberts

Roberts Wesleyan College’s Master of Science in Strategic Marketing program, launched in 2007, celebrated its 100th graduate Saturday, May 5, at commencement. The program’s 100th graduate was Suzanne Komenski, a media planner/buyer at Dixon Schwabl.

“When I first heard about this MSMK program at Roberts Wesleyan, what really drew me in was the ‘strategic’ part,” Komenski said. “Coming from a position where tactics are so important, I was excited to be able to learn more about forming the strategy behind certain decisions and seeing how it all works together. The MSMK Strategic Marketing program has given me the tools to think strategically and out of the box through real examples and our own experiences. Being able to connect what we were learning to the current marketing environment allowed me to put these concepts to use and really see them in action.”

The Master of Science in Strategic Marketing is a unique program that integrates a strategic perspective, theoretical foundation, ethical consideration, global focus and current trends within the field of marketing. This program accelerates professionals to apply new skills and insights on the job, making an immediate impact on their organizations and careers.

“This program has taught me to look at something new and to think of it as an opportunity, and not an obstacle,” Komenski said. “Working in an industry that is constantly changing and evolving, I am thankful to be able to bring everything I learned back to my team at Dixon Schwabl.”

The Master of Science in Strategic Marketing can be earned in 16 months at one of two host locations: Dixon Schwabl in Victor or Butler/Till in Henrietta.

“This program gives students powerful tools and concepts to apply to every career venture, as well as to boost their motivation,” said Dr. Laura Falco, professor of marketing and director of the Master of Science in Strategic Marketing program. “Suzanne was a student who completely transformed throughout her 16-month master’s program. She became a confident and strategic leader within her cohort. As the 100th graduate of this program, she perfectly exemplifies the characteristics that we strive to instill in all of our graduates.”
