Business Student Volunteers at the 2024 Paris Olympics!

During the summer months of 2024, one of my dreams had come true, when I was able to attend the Olympics. About 7 months prior, I had signed up to be a volunteer for the Czech Olympic Hospitality House with the hopes that I would be accepted. Fast forward a couple of months later, I got an email saying that I had been chosen to be a part of the 30 Czech volunteers for the house.
I stayed in Paris throughout the entire duration of the Olympics and my job consisted of several various tasks from taking care of Czech athletes and important people who came to visit, to ensuring that all the tourists that came from all over the world to visit the Czech house, had a pleasant time. Together with the other volunteers, we would work from around 11-13 hours a day, but luckily, we also got some off days to enjoy Paris and its Olympic atmosphere.
During my time in Paris, I met most of the athletes representing the Czech Republic, as well as some other athletes from different countries. I was able to hold several gold medals, participate in the popular Olympic pin trading, appear on Czech TV multiple times, and get the opportunity to attend several events, the highlight of which was definitely the beach volleyball at the incredible venue facing the famous Eiffel Tower. Additionally, I became friends with all of my fellow volunteers, making the sometimes very long hours, much more enjoyable.
Overall, this was a one-of-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget, while being so much fun it also taught me a lot of valuable lessons.
