Angelica "Angie" Perez-Delgado M '10 (Health Administration), the President and CEO of the Ibero-American Action League, was honored as a NYS Senate Women of Distinction on Oct. 2.

Perez-Delgado shared the following when she accepted the award: "As I reflected on the Women of Distinction award, I must admit I didn’t feel very distinct. According to the Internet, distinction means excellence that sets someone apart....[but] I realize that God's presence in my life marks my distinction. I am grateful for the chance to give back to my neighborhood. This work is my ministry—a calling fulfilled right where [I was] shaped and forged."

She has over 30 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, beginning her career as a substance abuse therapist before transitioning into administration over the past two decades.

A native of Rochester, Angie grew up in the North Clinton neighborhoods and has a unique perspective shaped by her experiences with poverty, trauma, and dropping out of high school at the age of 16 as a teenage mother. She earned her GED, an Associate's degree from Monroe Community College, a B.S. from Empire State College, and a Master's in Health Administration from Roberts Wesleyan University. She also has an Advanced Certificate in Scripture, Theology, and Ministry from Northeastern Seminary.

Congratulations to Angie on being named a NYS Senate Women of Distinction Honoree!
