This course is the foundational course in the Leadership Honors Program. Honors Leadership Seminar will introduce you to best practices in leadership and allow you to explore senior Honors leadership opportunities. This course will also provide you with the opportunity to interact with high-level leaders within the greater Rochester area from various fields.

HONR 3200: Honors Community Mentor Seminar

This course will connect you with an off campus community mentor from within your discipline. Together, you and your mentor will explore relevant vocational issues.

Senior Year:

STUDENTS CHOOSE ONE TRACK:

HONR 4980: Honors Research

This Honors Independent Study course provides you with the opportunity to pursue an advanced or special-interest topic and complete a literature review for your senior project with input from a faculty mentor.

HONR 4200: Honors Leadership and Mentoring

This course teaches you the skills of being a good mentor, including understanding the mentoring relationship. Alongside learning how to mentor, this course provides an opportunity to mentor lower division students at Roberts Wesleyan University. In addition to one-on-one mentoring, you will learn to teach and prepare leadership workshops.

HONR 4300: Honors Experiential Learning [Work Experience]

The cooperative education experience is designed to operate outside the confines of the regular classroom to aid you in focusing on career plans and goals. Internship placement within organizations or businesses is intended to enhance your academic and career interest. Cooperative education experiences are available during fall, spring, and summer semesters to qualified students. You must pre-register a semester in advance with the Honors Program and the Registrar.

HONR 4100: Honors Senior Seminar

You will bring your expertise, gained through the senior honors project, to bear on topics addressed in Honors Senior Seminar. You will be encouraged to probe the implications of your study through such activities as field-tested service projects and dialogue with disciplinary experts.
