Hear from some of our students who have studied abroad!
Agustin Rodriguez, Lithuania
My Lithuanian study abroad program was the highlight of my college career and opened up the world for me. I crossed the continent of Europe, from sunny warm beaches of Barcelona, Spain to snowy and cold squares of Moscow, Russia. I had the opportunity to do my internship as a coordinator of the Global Leadership Summit Lithuania and started a version of Enactus on that campus. I made friends that I Skype with and plan to visit. I learned more about myself and my identity as a result of this study abroad experience.
Tina Goldswer, India
Here I am on top of a beautiful mountain in Kerala, “God’s Own Country"
What a journey it was to get to know these wonderful people! I thank God every day for giving me the opportunity to go to India and experience a new culture.
Using the pottery wheel for the first time and after a couple of attempts of the clay warping in on itself, I was able to produce a small bowl. Of course, I probably would have been there all day without the help of the teacher.
Two days out of the week I would go for field work and visit rural communities. I remember playing, dancing, and singing with some of the children. I even remember singing the Irish song, “May the Road Rise Up To Meet You.” I also learned how to say, “What is your name” in the Tamil language; something along the lines of “Ungal Peyar Enna.” The smiles on the women’s faces always made my heart melt.
