The Unified Protocol (UP) is a cutting-edge cognitive-behavioral (CBT) therapy that can be used to treat many common mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, and other emotional disorders. It is a transdiagnostic treatment, which means it is meant to help anyone struggling to manage emotions, regardless of their diagnoses. The Unified Protocol is an active treatment that teaches patients skills and strategies to manage strong emotions when they are interfering in daily life. The goal of UP is to reduce the intensity and frequency of negative emotions, through emotion-focused education, awareness techniques, cognitive strategies, problem-solving, and an array of behavioral strategies. A parent group runs separately, at the same time as the children and adolescent groups, to equip parents with unique knowledge, skills, and support for parenting children and adolescents with emotional needs.

To ensure that this group is appropriate for each youth, screening is required.
