Financial Aid
For New York State Tuition Assistance Program recipients, requirements specify that program pursuit must be determined independently from satisfactory academic progress. Satisfactroy program pursuit is defined as receiving a passing or failing grade in a certain percentage of full-time course work in each semester for which an award is received. The percentage inscreases from 50 percent of the minimum full-time course work in each semester of study in the first year of which an award is received to 75 percent of the minumum full-time course work in each semester of the second year for which an award is received to 100 percent minimum full-time course work for each semester thereafter.
For New York State TAP and Federal Aid, a student must have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average at the end of each semester. Under extraordianary circumstances a one-time, one-semester waiver of these standards is available. Written documentation appeals should be addressed to the Office of Financial Aid.
