Theological Writing Courses

Northeastern Seminary’s degree programs require a graduate-level proficiency in writing. The Seminary offers two courses designed to help students develop their skills in theological research and writing.

CMC 500NE Orientation to Theological Studies is a non-credit hybrid course (one class session plus online assignments) required for all students enrolled in the Core curriculum and runs concurrently with BHT/BIB/PSF 511NE. All students must receive a passing grade in CMC 500NE in order to earn a degree from Northeastern Seminary.

CMC 501NE Practicum in Theological Writing is designed for those who would benefit from further assistance in the craft of writing. CMC 501NE is open to all students, however students earning a D+ (1.3) or below in BHT/BIB 511 will be required to take CMC 501NE in conjunction with the second Core course; for students earning a C+ (2.3) or below, it will be strongly recommended that they take CMC 501NE in conjunction with the second Core course. Students who are required to take CMC 501NE are required to earn a passing grade in the course in order to earn a degree from Northeastern Seminary.
