Federal Grants and Loans

Undergraduate students may be eligible for Federal PELL grants and Federal Direct loans. Graduate students may be eligible for the Federal Direct loans. Application for the Federal aid programs is done by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov to determine your eligibility. The FAFSA will be based on the prior year's federal tax information. For the 2018-19 academic year, 2016 tax information will be used.

  • The Federal Pell Grant is a grant program for eligible undergraduate students with financial need. For 2018-2019, these awards ranged from $325 to $3,047 per term.
  • Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized loans are available to undergraduate students for up to $6,250 per term.
  • Federal Direct Unsubsidized loans are available to graduate students for up to $10,250 per term.
  • Federal Direct PLUS loans are available for parents of dependent undergraduate students and graduate students for up to their cost of attendance minus any other aid.
