The Master of Science Family Nurse Practitioner program is a part-time program designed for working RNs who hold a bachelor's degree in nursing and are seeking a role in advanced practice nursing in primary care. Coursework is offered in a fully online format. Students will complete 600 hours of clinical and will learn to provide care to individuals of all ages in a variety of primary care settings. This program can be completed in 3 years.
Admission Criteria:
- B.S. Degree with a nursing major from an accredited program or the equivalent (or completion of our RN-BS Program)
- Licensure as a professional registered nurse within New York State
- Equivalent of one year full-time employment as a professional registered nurse
- Current employment as a nurse
- Accumulated grade point average (GPA) of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00
- Successful completion (B minus or higher) of a course in statistics
- Demonstrated proficiency in written communication
Transfer Credits from accredited graduate nursing programs may be considered.
