Students prepare for a career on the business side of healthcare when they join clinical and business professionals from all areas of the healthcare spectrum in a diverse learning environment. They will complete five semesters in the traditional Business Administration major, and having met the prescribed requirements, transition into the Health Administration B.S. program for the final 3 semesters. Beginning in the second semester of their junior year, students will complete classes online or in a classroom 1-night a week, while also completing two required internships in a healthcare administration related field.

SPECIFICS OF THE HEALTH ADMINISTRATION B.S. DEGREE 

Minimum Total Hours: 124

Total Liberal Arts Hours Required: 60

General Education Requirements: Per General Education list (see General Education Council). Exceptions: only one fine arts course is required (ART 101, MUS 104, OR FNA 102); must take PSY 260 for the behavioral science requirement; must take ECN 201 for the history, economics, or social sciences requirement; Mathematics requirement is met through the major requirements.

Minimum Requirements: Overall and major GPA of 3.0 or greater; no grade less than C- in the major; minimum grade of C- in CMC 101, CMP 101, CMP 102, and MTH 200; meet with Undergraduate Business Program Director to document plan for degree completion; must have own means of transportation to internships and RWC satellite campus.

Application to Major: Application to Major form can be secured from the Undergraduate Business Department and submitted during the second semester of the sophomore year.  A minimum grade of C- in MTH 200 and in all business courses is required for acceptance to the major.  Minimum overall and major GPA's of 3.0 are required to be accepted and to remain in the major.  Falling below an overall GPA or major GPA of 3.0 removes students from the major and precludes them from taking upper-level courses.
