The Four-Year Program

In the 4th year of the program, clinical training will be acquired at one of the following hospital affiliates; Rochester General Hospital, Rochester NY, at UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital in Jamestown, NY, or New York Methodist Hospital, Brooklyn, NY.

All clinical training programs are accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS). They conform to the Standards established by NAACLS which is sponsored by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) and the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS).

Upon successful completion of the 4th year (clinical training at the hospital), you will be awarded a B.S. in Medical Technology from RWC.

Students are then eligible to take the board of registry exam given by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Passage of this exam will result in national board certification. Graduates are also eligible for licensure through the N.Y.S. Education Department Office of the Professions.
