Literacy Education, M.Ed. (All Grades)

I have RAVED about this program to so many people who are thinking about starting their master’s degree. Every professor I have had has been incredibly helpful and I have gained so much knowledge and experience from each of the classes I have taken.

I am very grateful that this program is up to date on the science of reading and I was able to draw many parallels between what I was learning in our courses and literacy shifts that have been made where I teach.

Everything and every class was valuable. There was no filler in this program. The focus on theory gives you the "why" behind the practices and instructional strategies and I found myself reflecting on many of them as I worked through the practicum.

This is a well-thought-out program that prepares literacy specialists to meet the holistic needs of a child and collaborate effectively with staff. The teachers have all been very responsive, insightful, and incredibly helpful in helping me and my fellow graduates thrive in our classes.

I am appreciative of the professors within this program. Without their expertise, understanding, and dedication the amount of learning that has taken place wouldn’t be possible.

I am also appreciative of the different teaching experiences I have been exposed to [instead of] just sticking to one grade band. I was able to branch out of my comfort grade level.

I enjoyed my time in the program and was pushed to be my best self. The expectations were high but attainable and as a result I was able to grow immensely as a learner. There is not anything I would change about the program.
