The Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce, along with its Women's Council, presented the 38th annual Athena International Awards at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center on Feb. 1. The Athena Award is presented annually to an individual who has achieved excellence in their profession, is a leader in their community, and who serves as a mentor, role model and advocate for women.

Chapus devotes her time and energy to improving the quality of life for others. "We're all about giving people a fresh hope, and a future," said Chapus.

Chapus is the Founder of Miss Julie’s School of Beauty in Rochester and was recognized for her contributions through her one-of-a-kind program for survivors of human trafficking in the Rochester area community.
