Women's Giving Collective Celebrates Impact Through Student Scholarships
On Friday, Nov. 15, at the Genesee Valley Club, a group of women came together to celebrate the Women’s Giving Collective. The event highlighted the Collective’s ongoing efforts and successes, including the awarding of 16 scholarships to deserving students. A special moment of the event featured Success Edioma, a student scholarship recipient who shared her inspiring story, showcasing the transformative impact of the Collective’s support on her educational journey.
“I cannot thank you enough for this assistance in my journey. I am a third-year DMin student at Northeastern Seminary. I previously attended NES, graduating with my MDiv in 2018. I chose to return to NES for my doctoral work because of the incredible environment it provided – a space to learn, grow, ask questions, and mature in a safe and encouraging community. I have found the same to be true in every department at NES and Roberts. I appreciate the work of the Women’s Giving Collective and I hope that I can return the favor in the near future!”
- Student recipient of Women’s Giving Collective Scholarship, Kaitlyn Wood
What is the Women’s Giving Collective?
The Women’s Giving Collective is made up of 41 women committed to advancing God’s work at Roberts and Northeastern by supporting and providing for students through their financial resources. The Collective was launched in July 2021 with a purpose of helping students continue their education at Roberts and Northeastern, while other financial burdens might have kept them from pursuing their degrees. Since then, we have developed a committed, generous group of women who all have the same goal in mind – to make a difference in helping students through scholarships. To date, our Collective has raised $40,000 for student scholarships.
“I appreciate Roberts Wesleyan University and Northeastern Seminary. We need more leaders in our world that have Christlike character! Giving to the Women's Giving Collective is a priority for me because I believe that having strong women formed in the way of Jesus will make this world a far better place.”
- Roberta Mosier-Peterson, Women’s Giving Collective member since 2021
If you or a neighbor, colleague, or family member would want to join this unique community, women are asked to donate one hundred dollars or more to support students at the University and Seminary. Please visit www.roberts.edu/womensgivingcollective.
We appreciate your prayers and support of the Collective as we continue to offer character education to our students!
