At Roberts Wesleyan University, students experience high-stress levels as the finals approach. To help alleviate anxiety, the campus wellness center introduced "Moment of Paws," a program featuring visits from therapy dogs.
Students describe the end of the semester as incredibly stressful, balancing academic workload and other commitments. Hudson, a Bernese Mountain Dog, was brought by handler Brett Bouchard to campus to provide emotional support and help students take a mental break.
Wellness Center Coordinator Kristen Godshall believes the therapy dog helps students manage anxiety about upcoming exams. Students who struggle with anxiety find the dog's presence therapeutic and calming. The program aims to bring moments of joy and relief during a high-pressure time.
