College pole vaulter Brynn King has made history by becoming the first in her sport to sign a major NIL (name, image, likeness) deal with adidas. She is the first college pole vaulter to land an agreement with a major shoe company. The Roberts Wesleyan University graduate student from The Woodlands, Texas, announced the agreement on Saturday.

King had a remarkable 2024 season, becoming Roberts' first NCAA champion and qualifying for the Paris U.S. Olympic team. At the Olympic Trials in Oregon, she set a record of 4.73 meters (15-feet, 6 1/4 inches), advancing from eighth to third place to secure her spot on Team USA.

She is coached by 2012 Olympic gold medalist Jenn Suhr, a former adidas athlete, and her husband Rick. After transferring from Duke University in 2023, King has broken multiple NCAA Division II records and claimed both indoor and outdoor national championships in her first year as a Redhawk.

"Making the Paris Olympics was a dream come true and now I am able to represent adidas as I continue to pursue my goals and chase dreams," King said.
