Student Activities

Get Involved

Getting involved in activities outside the classroom is one of the most rewarding aspects of college life. If you have an interest, but do not see it listed below, feel free to contact the Office of Student Life about creating a new student organization on campus.

The organizations below are what's currently offered, but students have the opportunity to form new organizations if they find an interest.

  • Beacon Newspaper- Produces a student newspaper to inform and enlighten students on campus activities and issues.
  • Class Councils- Represents class and plan activities for the class. Officers are elected positions.
  • Intramurals- Provides intramurals sports: ultimate Frisbee, flag football, basketball, handball, dodgeball, and volleyball.
  • Publicity- Promotes student activities on campus.
  • Senate- Represents the student body’s concerns and promotes positive change on campus.
  • Multi-Ethnic Affairs- and provides advocacy and guidance for multi-ethnic groups on campus in an effort to effectively represent Roberts’ diverse community.
  • Social Life- Plans and implements campus-wide social activities.
  • Historian - Preserve the history of student activities and the student association, coordinate the Chesbronian Yearbook

  • Society of Physics Students (SPS)- Advances and diffuses knowledge of physics, encourages interest in physics and introduces students to the professional community.
  • Student Education Association (SEA)- Promotes dialogue on important topics facing the field of education and teachers in the workplace, and plans service projects/fundraisers for local children.
  • Physical Education Majors Club – This organization aims to support professional and service activities outside of the classroom.
  • Medical Club- The purpose of this organization shall be to bring together students interested in pursuing a career in the medical field and aid them in the process toward their personal and professional goals.
  • Music Therapy Club - The purpose of this club is to create inter-relational, emotional, and spiritual support for individuals interested in music therapy while advocating for greater awareness of music therapy at Roberts and the Rochester area.
  • Nursing Club - To bring nursing students together for recreation and service to the Roberts Community and the local community as well. It will also allow Freshman and Sophomore nursing students an opportunity to network with Junior and Senior nursing students.
  • Math and Science Club – A place for math and science students to come together and discuss issues in math and science and to have fellowship outside of the classroom.
  • Psychology Club - The mission and purpose of the Psych Club is to serve the campus and greater community while exploring, understanding, and sharing psychological principles in everyday life.

  • Brothers And Sisters In Christ (BASIC)- Provides students with the full Gospel to encourage them to develop their full potential as Christians.
  • Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)- Promotes and encourages spiritual growth for athletes at Roberts, while seeing the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of athletes and coaches.
  • ROC Solid –established to minister to a small group of college-aged students and to learn about God in a variety of ways, including worship, testimonies, and service projects out in the local community.
  • FREE- The Fellowship of Revolutionaries Empowering the Enslaved (FREE) fights against human trafficking.
  • I.H.S. (In His Service) Club- Fosters connections among Catholic students on campus. 
  • In Jesus Name - Our mission is to serve and love others just as Christ has served and loved us, specifically through service projects and outreach in Chili and Rochester.

  • Brass Chamber Music- Performs an array of styles ranging from early Baroque to modern music. This ensemble rehearses weekly, performs a concert each semester, and typically consists of trumpets, French horn, trombone, and tuba.
  • Chorale- Devoted to the study and performance of high-quality choral music from diverse styles, musical eras, languages, and cultures, this is RWC’s premier vocal ensemble. Rehearses four times per week, performs several times each semester, and takes biennial domestic tours and quadrennial international tours. Auditions are required.
  • Dance Team- Gives students the opportunity to express themselves through dance, performing on campus.
  • Gospel Choir- Exposes the Roberts community to Gospel music while providing students and faculty with another style of worship. No audition required.
  • Jazz Combo/Ensemble- Rehearses weekly and performs composed and improvised music derived from the American big band tradition, African American composers, contemporary classical music, and more. Auditions are required for Jazz Ensemble
  • Men’s Chorus- Performs a capella, southern gospel, quartet styles of music. For men both majoring and not majoring in music.
  • Opera Performance- Provides experience in the art of Opera with a production every year. Auditions are required.
  • RWC Community Orchestra (RWCCO)- Provides a high quality orchestral musical experience. The Orchestra consists of approximately 60 RWU students and Rochester area musicians, and performs 2-4 concerts each semester. Auditions are required.
  • String Chamber Music- Includes string players and performs a concert each year. Invite only.
  • Theatre Minor- Faculty-led aspects of theatrical productions including acting, production, backstage, set, and promotion.
  • Wind Ensemble- Rehearses three times per week, performs 2-4 concerts each semester, and takes biennial domestic tours and quadrennial international tours. Auditions are required.
  • Women's Choir- Includes women both majoring and not majoring in music. No audition is required.
  • Woodwind Quintet- Includes flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, and French horn. Performs a concert each year & is invite only.
  • Flute Choir – Rehearses once a week, audition only (restricted to advanced players)

  • Global Club- Helps international students connect with Americans and provides a place to share about cross-cultural experiences.
  • ICARE Connections- Facilitates positive connections among students across all disciplines and makes accommodations as partners with the BELL (Bridge to Earning, Learning, and Living) program.
  • Ski Club- Provides an opportunity for students to ski/snowboard and create a sense of community.
  • Student Multicultural Advisory Council (SMAC)- Breaks barriers and builds bridges by accepting, embracing and celebrating people from all cultures.
  • SAAC – Student Athlete Advisory Council (Department club through Athletics).
  • Students For Life- Educates on life issues, helps those in need so that life is a promising choice, and promotes love and respect.
  • African Student Union (ASU) - recognize and celebrate the differences of African cultures present on campus
  • Horizons - A supportive community to increase awareness and acceptance regarding LGBTQ+ issues and culture.
  • Women’s Empowerment Club – Bring together the community of women at Roberts to create a safe space and speak about current issues our society is facing regarding women and gender inequality.
  • Men’s Empowerment Club – to encourage and promote the art of living as a strong, God-fearing man in a world that hinders you and work to promote and showcase Godly community to the campus.
