The Master of Science in Nursing Education degree program is designed for working RN's who hold a bachelor's degree in nursing and want to be an important part of nursings' future by becoming a nurse educator. The program is based in nursing science with a focus on advancing clinical and evidence-based teaching skills and prepares students to teach in college, university and clinical settings. Students develop expertise through a teaching practicum in an area of choice. Students master the latest technological advances in education. Working RN's can complete this degree in just 20 months, 1 night a week or 100% online.
Admission Criteria:
- B.S Degree with a nursing major from an accredited program or the equivalent (or completion of our RN-BS). Individuals with a Bachelor's degree in another discipline may be eligible for the RN to MS program.
- Licensure as a professional registered nurse within New York State or the US territories or Canada. Other licensure will be evaluated on an individual basis.
- The equivalent of one-year full-time employment as a professional registered nurse and current position in nursing
- Accumulated grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00
- Successful completion (B minus or higher) of a course in statistics
- Demonstrated proficiency in written communication
Transfer Credit from accredited nursing graduate programs may be considered.
