The Master of Science with a major in Nursing Leadership and Administration degree program is designed for working RN’s who hold a bachelor's degree and are in or are seeking leadership positions in the health care system. Based on nursing science, the program will develop and hone the nurse's knowledge of administration, management, and health care finance. The course work, graduate project, and internship will prepare the graduate to be a visionary leader and a participant in the improvement of the health care system. It is an accelerated program meeting one night per week with extensive online course support and is also offered as a fully online program.
Admission Criteria:
- B.S Degree with a nursing major from an accredited program or the equivalent (or completion of our RN - BS Program) Individuals with a Bachelor's degree in another discipline may be eligible for the RN to MS program.
- Licensure as a professional registered nurse within New York State or the US territories or Canada. Other licensure will be evaluated on an individual basis.
- Equivalent of one year full-time employment as a professional registered nurse
- Current employment as a nurse
- Accumulated grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00
- Successful completion (B minus or higher) of a course in statistics
- Demonstrated proficiency in written communication
Transfer Credits from accredited graduate nursing programs may be considered.
