Undergraduate Transfer Policies

Policy on Transfer Credit:

For students from regionally accredited colleges and universities, credit is usually accepted for courses in which the grade is C- or above and is approved by The Office of Registration. Developmental courses, pre-college courses, and courses in some disciplines will be excluded. Course work from institutions not regionally accredited will be evaluated by the Chief Academic Officer, who will determine, within guidelines set by the College, how much, if any, credit can be awarded. Transfer credit from baccalaureate degree programs is limited to 90 semester hours plus three hours of physical education credit. This includes advanced placement credit and credits earned through the College Level Examination Program (CLEP).  Credit earned in a graduate or postbaccalaureate degree program cannot be applied to a B.S. degree. For a specific summary of transfer credit and a completion assessment, please request a Transfer Credit Evaluation (TCE) through the program's Enrollment Coordinator.

Besides the credit earned through courses at Roberts Wesleyan College, adult learners will also need credit that meets general education requirements and fulfills the need for elective credit to round out their academic program and complete the total number of credits needed for graduation. General education and elective credit may be met by the transfer of credit from other accredited colleges and universities, portfolio and non-portfolio evaluation of credit, and credit-bearing courses taken at the College. Each adult learner will be advised as to the options available, and they will work with an advisor to develop an Academic Plan.
