International Applicants
International Applicants and TOEFL or IELTS Requirements
Roberts Wesleyan College is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant alien students.
All applicants coming to Roberts Wesleyan College whose native language is not English are required to provide proof of language proficiency. Students may meet this in one of the following ways:
- Submit official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score. Applicants must obtain minimum scores of 540 (paper test) or 75 (internet-based test) in order to be admitted.
- Submit an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher in order to be admitted.
It is each applicant’s responsibility to make the necessary arrangements. Information about the TOEFL is available online at www.TOEFL.org. Information about the IELTS is available online at www.IELTS.org.
Students who have not taken the TOEFL or IELTS, or whose score is below the requirement, may be eligible for enrollment into the Roberts English Language Institute (ELI). An enrolled student in the ELI may be granted readiness for entering the Traditional Undergraduate program by completion of the necessary language levels and by approval from the Director of the ELI.
Early arrival to campus may be required so that international students can be tested to determine English language placement and course scheduling. For more information, contact the Office of Admissions at admissions@roberts.edu or 800.777.4RWC.
