Luke May graduated from Roberts Wesleyan College in May 2021 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Music Education. While at Roberts, he studied cello with Lars Kirvan, a well-known chamber musician and cellist with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Throughout his undergraduate career, Luke maintained an emphasis on growing not only as an educator but a performer as well. His effort and practice culminated in a large senior recital at Roberts, which featured an impressive program for cello and collaborative piano. Luke has worked and performed in a variety of settings. He frequently plays with worship teams, wedding musicians, and can even be heard on an album recorded by an American Idol contestant. Because of this varied experience, he is comfortable teaching a variety of repertoire/genres of music. Luke enjoys tailoring private lessons to the interests and skills of his students.

Luke recently began his music education career at the Churchville-Chili Central School District as an elementary orchestra and general music teacher. Presently, he is continuing his participation with the Roberts Wesleyan College Community Orchestra as principal cellist.
