Mary Cariola Students Visit Positive Exposure Exhibit

Students from Mary Cariola Children's Center visited Roberts Wesleyan College to see the photographic exhibit, “Positive Exposure” as part of a Community Based Instruction (CBI) program.

The Cariola students were welcomed by Roberts “Bridge to Earning Living and Learning” (BELL) students. The BELL Program is an inclusive postsecondary certificate program offered by Roberts Wesleyan College on campus for students age 18-26 with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are transitioning to adulthood.

The photographic exhibition “Positive Exposure – Change How You See, See How you Change,”, presented by the Golisano Foundation, features portraits taken by internationally renowned photographer Rick Guidotti of people from the Rochester region who are living with genetic, physical, intellectual and developmental differences. A goal of this work is to think about how we can be a more inclusive, compassionate community. The photographs provide the opportunity to see beyond all labels or disabilities, and see people as the beautiful, vibrant individuals that they are.

Following the viewing of the exhibit, the Mary Cariola students attended community chapel and enjoyed lunch in the cafeteria.
