Major Requirements
There are several core courses that are required by all students in the Music Performance program. These include:
- Music Theory I, II, III, IV
- Aural Skills I, II, III
- Music History and Literature I, II, III
- Basic Conducting
- Ensembles
- Applied Piano
- Functional Piano
- Music Seminar
In addition to these core courses, there are several specific requirements for vocal, piano, guitar, and orchestral instruments.
Vocal Requirements:
- Vocal Literature I, II
- Vocal Pedagogy / Vocal Field Experience
- Diction for Singers
- Foreign language (6 credits)
- Choral Conducting
- Musical Stage Performance
- Applied Voice
Piano Requirements:
- 20th Century Theory
- Piano Literature I, II
- Piano Pedagogy I
- Piano Field Experience
- Accompanying
Orchestral Instruments:
- 20th Century Theory

- Instrument Pedagogy / Field Experience
- Instrumental Conducting
- Applied Instrument
- Chamber Ensemble

All performance majors are required to perform a Junior and Senior recital.
