2020-21 Undergraduate Academic Catalog | Admissions

Re-Enrollment to the College

Students who have left the College for any reason must file an application for re-enrollment if they want to return to the College.  These forms are available in the Office of Admissions as well as online.  Re-enrollment is not automatic, but is based on the student's entire academic record, previous college involvements and achievements, and other life circumstances since leaving the College.

Upon receipt of the re-enrollment application, the Office of Admissions will contact several campus offices to confirm that the student is eligible to return in good standing.  Registration confirms the student's academic eligibility, Student Financial Services confirms financial eligibility, and Student Development determines if prior issues regarding student code of conduct need to be addressed before returning to Roberts. If a student is seeking re-enrollment directly into the Nursing major, the Office of Admissions will also contact the School of Nursing for their approval. If a student is seeking re-enrollment with a declared major of Nursing, they will also be evaluated under the same admissions requirements as Nursing transfers.

In cases where the student left involuntarily by action of the College, a review will determine whether appropriate activities, treatments, and/or personal growth has occurred to warrant another opportunity for the student to attend the College.  There are some cases in which the Office of Student Development may choose to meet with the student or consult with appropriate professionals before making a final decision.  In cases of denial, the student may appeal to the Admissions Selection Committee.

Students who interrupt their program for two or more semesters (summer excluded) must meet the requirements of the current catalog at the time of return and reapply to the major if applicable.  Returning students who have completed a minimum of 30 semester hours at RWC and have been away for two semesters may (summer excluded) exercise the option to have grades of D and F purged from their transcript.  More information regarding the purging of traditional undergraduate academic record is available in the Registration Office.

Second Degree Students

Students who have obtained a degree and seek to return for an additional degree will be required to apply for re-enrollment. These forms are available in the Office of Admissions as well as online. Admission is not automatic, but is based on the student's entire academic record, previous college involvements and achievements, and other life circumstances since leaving the College.

Upon receipt of the re-enrollment application, the Office of Admissions will contact several campus offices to confirm that the student is eligible to return in good standing. Registration confirms the student's academic eligibility, and Student Development confirms issues regarding student code of conduct. If a student is seeking admission with an intended major of Nursing, they will be evaluated under the same admissions requirements as Nursing transfers.
