Nursing Leadership and Administration, M.S.

[Nursing Leadership and Administration—1203.1]

The Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Administration degree program is designed for working RNs who hold a bachelor's degree and are in or are seeking leadership positions in the healthcare system. Based on nursing science, the program will develop and hone the nurse's knowledge of administration, management, and healthcare finance. The coursework, graduate project, and internship will prepare the graduate to be a visionary leader and a participant in the improvement of the healthcare system. This is an online program with an internship.

Admission Criteria:

  • B.S. Degree with a nursing major from an accredited program or the equivalent (or completion of our RN-BS Program). Individuals with a Bachelor's degree in another discipline may be eligible for the RN to MS program.
  • Licensure as a professional registered nurse within New York State or the US territories or Canada. Other licensure will be evaluated on an individual basis.
  • Equivalent of one year full-time employment as a professional registered nurse
  • Current employment as a nurse
  • Accumulated grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00
  • Successful completion (B minus or higher) of a course in statistics
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written communication

Transfer Credits from accredited graduate nursing programs may be considered.
